NAGC is a membership organisation with 40 year's experience in addressing the needs of high ability children and their families. We support about 10,000 children, young people and adults each year through the services we provide.
There is nothing sadder than a lively child, brimming with potential, having a miserable time because they feel they can't be themselves or learn at their own pace; or a parent who is not confident about supporting their child.
The support services we provide include:
- Our Helpline and e-mail service for children and young people, parents and organisations working with these groups
- A Parent-School Partnership Service which supports parents and schools to find a positive outcome for the child in their care
- Regular Explorer Activity Clubs in 26 locations around the country
- Research and other publications and resources on gifted and talented issues
- Access to music and arts specialists
- An exclusive magazine keeping you up to date with issues surrounding having a gifted and talented child
- Colour magazines - one for children under ten and one for the over tens full of ideas and activities to do
- An interactive website full of resources for you to use
As a registered charity, the respect we have earned as a specialist organisation enables us to lobby government and other bodies for changes in the way children and young people of high ability and their parents are treated.
Your support through membership subscriptions is extremely important. NAGC is a charity and without membership contributions we would not be able provide services or support the network of local branches. This enables NAGC to:
- help future generations of children and young people maximise their potential
- continually improve the services we provide to children and young people, their families and the organisations that work with them
- support our work at a local level to ensure it is meeting need
